A memorial service was held Saturday at Harvest Presbyterian Church for Charles Edward Kincaid, 65, of Ceres. He died Jan. 16, 2011.

Born July 24 1945, Charles was the first-born son of Jack and Ruby Kincaid. He moved to Waterford in 1949 as a child and was raised in the Valley. Out of high school he joined the Navy Reserve and worked at Sharp Army Depot for several years until he began his career working for Stanislaus County. During his 30 plus years at the county he became well known as an assistant engineer and was the Official Map Checker under the county surveyor until he retired in 2003. He was regarded highly among his peers and was well known in the surveyor's community. He had a passion for the outdoors, traveling, classic cars and gardening and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Florence Kincaid of Ceres; his three children, Chad Kincaid, Tracy Wimberly and Nathan Puma; his sister, Jone Kelley; his brother, Dennis Kincaid; and five grandchildren.
