A memorial service was held Sunday at Hughson United Methodist Church for Charles Frederick Schweiker, 80, of Hughson. He died Sept. 2, 2007.
Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Born in June 17, 1927, Mr. Schweiker was a native of Iowa and raised there. He moved to California when he was 18. He worked in Turlock, in the poultry business, where he also raised his family. He also worked for the Federal Government with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms for 17 years. Mr. Schweiker retired in 1990. He built his dream home in Arnold, where he enjoyed golfing and cutting firewood.
He leaves behind his wife, Betty Schweiker of Hughson; his children, Andrea Schweiker, Douglas Schweiker, Jeffrey Schweiker; his step-children, Susan Bunch, David Goesch and Audrey Kitzman; his sister, Marilyn Mullins; his half sister, Virginia Ferguson; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
