A service was held Monday at Turlock Funeral Home for Charles House, 79, of Ceres. He died June 21, 2009.
Private internment was at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
Born Dec. 22, 1929, "Chuck" was born in McAlister Okla. He was the third of 10 children of W.O. and Lula House. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Chuck came to California as a young man where he met the love of his life, Joan, in 1966. They recently celebrated 42 years of marriage. Bowling and being a gentleman farmer were among his favorite pastimes. He loved any excuse for family and friends to gather for the best grilled steaks ever.
He leaves behind his wife, Joan House of Ceres; his children, Greg House, Sharon, Shelley, Susan, Vickie, and Ruth; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
