Private services were held for Claire Ann Gillis, 53, of Hughson. She died Aug. 29, 2007 at her home.
Born Jan. 10, 1954, Mrs. Gillis was a native of Pacific Beach. She graduated from East Nicholas High School in Nicholas. She attended Modesto Junior College nursing program. Mrs. Gillis started her career at local nursing homes in Modesto. Later she worked for Oak-Valley Hospital in Oakdale, as a inhalation therapist. She enjoyed and cared very much for her patients.
Claire followed her faith and went to Israel to live for 18 months. She spoke many times about returning to the holy land.
She leaves behind her parents, Ann Gillis of Hughson, and Laurence Gillis of Idaho; her three brothers, Patrick Gillis, John Gillis and Michael Gillis; her four sisters, Marie Chandler, Patricia De Kelata, Annette Bradley and Louise Houston; and over 30 nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Peter J. Gillis.
Remembrances may be sent to a Hospice of choice.
