A funeral was held Saturday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Cy McCormack, 73, of Ceres. He died Feb. 15, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.
Born July 22, 1931, Mr. McCormack was a native of Norton, Kansas, and lived in Ceres for 57 years. A graduate of Modesto High School, Mr. McCormack was a land surveyor for Thompson Hysell Engineering for 55 years. He was the youngest surveyor in Stanislaus County when he started his career and was the oldest when he died. Mr. McCormack enjoyed gardening, cards and gambling at Jackson Rancheria.
He leaves behind two children, Margie Perez of Don Pedro and Michael McCormack of Ceres; his sister, Maxine Carr of Kansas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Adkins McCormack, whom he married in 1950.
