A private memorial gathering will be held for Dale Ralph Emerson, 52, of Turlock. He died June 30, 2009 in a motorcycle accident at Keyes Road and Central Avenue south of Ceres.

Dale's ashes will be scattered at sea.

Born Aug. 5, 1956, Dale was a Bay area native who grew up in Fremont. He graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 1974. He attended Ohlone College graduating from the Respiratory Therapist Program. Continuing his education Dale achieved advanced certifications in pediatric respiratory care and was a long-time employee of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Mr. Emerson enjoyed scuba diving, traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Fiji, and the Caribbean to dive.

He leaves behind his companion, Julie Souza of Modesto; his mother, Claire Emerson of Fremont; his brother, Wayne Emerson, of Fremont; and his sister, Karen Emerson of Mill Valley.
