A memorial service was held Saturday at a private Modesto residence for Darlene Marie Dalton Charlton, 73, of Keyes. She died on Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Dec. 17, 1931, Mrs. Charlton was a native of Cooter, Mo., and lived in Keyes for two years. She was a homemaker who loved embroidery and gambling at slot machines.

She leaves behind seven children, Barbara McDaniel of Keyes, Linda Pettit of Modesto, James Littles and Coleman Hamilton of Idaho, Christine Sanchez of Texas, and Diane Hickman and James Charlton, both of Turlock; and two sisters, Patsy and Rosalie, both of Oregon; and 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elige Littles, Coleman Hamilton and James Charlton; and son Wayne Littles.
