A memorial service was held Saturday at Calvary Chapel in Modesto for David Clark Hulst, 57, of Hughson. He died Feb. 4, 2008.
A graveside service followed at Lakewood Memorial Park. Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Born Nov. 13, 1950, Mr. Hulst was a simple man, humble, soft-spoken, kind-hearted, caring, faithful, loving, and honest; a man most people just loved to be around. His passions were his faith, family, friends, fishing, farming, and his research. He enjoyed conducting agricultural research on his farm in the Hughson area, and was always in search of the best fishing spots. Mr. Hulst's passions were his family, his relationship with Jesus Christ, and making Jesus known to people.
He leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Marie Hulst of Hughson; two children, Bethanie Humphreys and Brandon Hulst; his siblings, Merritt Hulst, Trish Galt, and Dianne Warn; his mother, Dorothy Hulst; and his grandchildren Isabella Humphreys and Kailyn Hulst.
