A funeral was held Friday morning at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Dos Palos for Demosthenes "Demo" Adams, 72, of Ceres. He died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock

Burial was at Dos Palos District Cemetery.

Born April 27, 1933, Mr. Adams was a native of Crockett, Texas and lived in Ceres for 13 years. He previously lived in the Bay Area. Mr. Adams worked for the city and county of San Francisco for 33 years. He also was co-owner of a barbecue business and worked for the Postal Service. Mr. Adams was a member of the Ceres Lions Club and Glorious Kingdom Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Margie Todd-Adams of Ceres; two children, Althea Adams-Fonsworth of Ceres and Sandra Adams-Miller of Watsonville; his brother, Arnold James Adams of Elk Grove; his sister, Blanche Cormier of Richmond; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Denise Adams-Davenport; and one brother.
