Donald Lee Sanders

Donald "Don" Lee Sanders passed away in Modesto on Dec 18, 2013. He was 80 years old.

Born in Modesto on May 23, 1933 to Ralph and Glenna Sanders, Don graduated from Ceres High School in 1951, where he lettered in all four sports. He went onto Stanford University where he played in the Rose Bowl. Mr. Sanders lived in the area his entire life and was a well-respected real estate broker for 50 years.

He is survived by his two children, Jennifer Haglund (Steve) and Jeff Sanders; his brother, Jim Sanders (Bonnie); his sister, Diane Boulware; and sister in law C.J. Sanders. He was very proud of his grandsons, Clint Haglund (Stephanie) and Easton Haglund (Jillian), and his three great grandchildren, Kendyll, Cash and Paige. Don was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Lelia, in 1999. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Glen.

He will be greatly missed by all of his extended family.

There will be a celebration of his life held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Lakewood Memorial Park in the Heritage Chapel.
