A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto for Donald Paul Riggins, 74, of Ceres. He died March 21, 2008.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Born Aug. 26, 1933, Mr. Riggins was a native of Cordell, Okla., born to Oscar and Pauline Riggins Laurence. The family moved to Tracy in 1942. Don attended area schools and later joined the National Guard. He retired from Crown & Cork Can Company in 1993. He had a lifelong interest in collectibles and flea markets. Mr. Riggins was a member of the Waterford Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In 1966 Mr. Riggins married his first wife, Irene Vaughn, who died in 1996. He then married Lucy Kennison.
He leaves behind his wife, Lucy Riggins of Ceres; his two brothers, Ray Riggins of San Jose, and Clayton Riggins of Tray; his sister, Aluerna Cardoza of Danville; and five stepchildren.
