Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward was in charge of arrangements for Earl Franklin George, 91, of Hughson. He died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005 at Brandel Manor in Turlock.

Born May 16, 1914, Mr. George was a native of Decatur, Ill., and lived in Hughson for a year. He previously lived in Castro Valley for 50 years. Mr. George was a cabinetmaker and worked 30 years as foreman at Breuners Home Furnishings in Emeryville. He attended Castro Valley First Baptist Church and Redwood Chapel Community Church. Mr. George was a member of the Shindiggers square dance club and enjoyed golf. He served in the Navy four years and was stationed at the Naval Air Station, Alameda, during World War II.

He leaves behind his wife, Mildred George of Hughson; two children, Donna Gregg of Fresno and Michael George of Castro Valley; his brother, Wayne Mosby of Decatur; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
