A memorial service was held Friday at Harvest Presbyterian Church in Ceres for Elizabeth "Betty" Totten DeAngeles, 89, of Hughson. She died Dec. 19, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Born Nov. 15, 1915, Mrs. DeAngeles was a native of Fall City, Wash., and lived in Hughson for two and a half years. She previously lived in Turlock for more than 50 years, Crows Landing eight years and Newman 12 years. Mrs. DeAngeles and her husband co-owned Pacific Tallow Works. She was a charter member of the 20-Ands of Turlock; a member of the Turlock and Ceres Rebekah lodges and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for more than 60 years; and a member of Ceres and Livingston chapters of Order of the Eastern Star.

She leaves behind two daughters, Sally Butters of Sacramento and Jan Beekman of Modesto; and three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sal DeAngeles.
