Services were held on Friday at Guerrero Mortuary in San Leandro for Elizabeth Geers Cranston, 84, of Hughson. She died Oct. 8, 2007.

Born Oct. 12, 1922, Mrs. Cranston was a native of Richmond, Ind. She moved to Oakland as a child and graduated from Holy Names High School and Holy Names University. She was a retired elementary teacher who loved her teaching days in the Oakland Public School System. Both during college and after the death of her husband, Frederick, she played violin in the Holy Names University orchestra. Mrs. Cranston enjoyed ballroom dancing and belonged to the Hayward Dance Club, among others. She moved to Samaritan Village in Hughson in 2006.

She leaves behind her children, Eric Cranston and Carolyn Lott of Turlock; four grandchildren, Rebecca Ratto, Luke Ratto, and Jessica Ratto and Joslyn Hibma; and three great-grandchildren, Gabriel Ratto, Johanna and Julianna Hibma. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Frederick Cranston; her second husband of over 15 years, Fabian Parker.

Remembrances may be sent to Holy Names University Music Department (Oakland) or Hospice of Emanuel (Turlock.)
