A graveside service was held at Ceres Memorial Park on Tuesday afternoon for Eugene Raymond Popp, 59, of Ceres. He died of natural causes on Oct. 11, 2005 at his home.

Eaton Family Funeral & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Born June 23, 1946, Mr. Popp was a native of Oakland and lived in Ceres for 10 years. He was a property manager for 15 years. Mr. Popp had served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He belonged to the Escalon Presbyterian Church and the Ceres Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Popp enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Love-Popp of Ceres; his stepson, Adam Erwin of Denair; his brother, Kenny Warner of North Carolina; five sisters, Gwen Griffin of Escalon, Karen Canada and Carolyn Carter, both of Florida, Denise Shank and Vicky James, both of North Carolina; and three grandchildren.
