A memorial service was held at the Ceres Chapel Franklin and Downs on Friday for Eula A. Primrose, 91, of Ceres. She died March 6, 2010, surrounded by her Christian sisters and lifetime friends.

Born Sept. 10, 1918 in Arkansas, Eula grew up to marry her childhood sweetheart, Bob A. Primrose, on September 9, 1934. They were together for 67 years until his Aug. 2, 2002 death. Mrs. Primrose lived in Ceres since the early 1940s. For nearly 20 years Eula a school cook for the Ceres Unified School District, working mainly as a baker. Today there are hundreds of grown-up boys and girls who remember Eula as their school lunch lady. She was a member of the Ceres Valley Christian Assembly since 1960 and served in many areas during her years as a member. She was especially fond of the women's ministry that handmade quilts for the missions program.

She leaves behind her niece, Marty McDonald, of Bothell Wash.; her grand-nieces and nephews, Jeff McDonald of Oregon, and Charlene Znak, Cindy Anglin, Dave McDonald and Steve McDonald, all of Washington; and numerous great-grand nieces and nephews and several great-great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in 1981 by sister Euda D. Taylor.
