Services were held Friday at the Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel for Eva Lee Waters, 90, of Modesto. She died April 18, 2008 in Turlock.

Born April 3, 1918, Mrs. Waters packaged parachutes for troops at Tinker A.F.B. in Oklahoma City, Okla., during World War II. In the 1940s she relocated with her husband Carl Waters to Modesto and has lived in the area ever since. Eva Lee was a volunteer for the local Red Cross in Stanislaus County. She was employed at California Vegetable Concentrate in Ceres on Whitmore Avenue for 30 years and retired as a floor lady. She l enjoyed participating with the 50 Plus Club, traveling, gambling, sewing, crocheting, gardening, reading and watching the Oakland Raiders football team.

She leaves behind her son, Jerry DeForest Cox of Ocean Park, Wash.; her granddaughters, Donna Edwards-Fuller of Mound House, Nev., Wendy L. Ducos of Modesto, Sandie Edwards-Rogers of Antioch, and Michele Baron of Turlock; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Christian, Elyzabeth, Erika and Will. She was preceded in death by her son Donnie Waters and daughter Peggy Dack.
