A graveside service was held Saturday afternoon at Ceres Memorial Park for Garlen Edward Naylor, 87, of South Modesto. He died Dec. 19, 2009 with his family by his side.

The Ceres Chapel of Franklin and Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Garlen was born Oct. 27, 1922 in Heavener, Okla., to Roy and Lena Naylor.

He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Icie Naylor of South Modesto; his children, Mildred DeSignori, Gary Naylor and Glen Naylor; four sisters, Florene Burdine, Emilee Shirey, Norma Coughran and Velma Coughran; and 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Irene Buchanan and Dorothy James, and brothers Carl Naylor, Frank Naylor and James Naylor.
