A memorial service was held Friday at Village Chapel Free-Will Baptist Church in Ceres for Garry Clinton Brown, 58, of Ceres. He died Jan. 11, 2008.

Pastor Adrian Condit officiated. A graveside service was held at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Born Aug. 6, 1949, Mr. Brown was a native of Yuma, Ariz., and grew up and lived most of his life in Kingman, Ariz. After high school, he entered into the Army and served in Vietnam. He married Sandra Loraine Pittsinger and established a home in Ceres where they have lived for almost 25 years. Mr. Brown loved his family and his country. His hobbies included watching NASCAR races, and spending time with his wife, family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife, Sandra Brown of Ceres; his children, James Paul Brown of Modesto, and Jennifer Louise Stultz of Ceres; his parents, James Clinton and Frances Louise Brown of Ceres; his brother, Jimmie Wayne Brown of Kingman, Ariz.; and two granddaughters, Destiny Stultz and Shannon Stultz, both of Ceres.
