A service was held Saturday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Gary Allen Dyke, 52, of Ceres. He died March 14, 2009.
Interment was at Ceres Memorial Park.
Born March 6, 1957 in Ceres, Gary was the youngest son of Ellis Dyke and Norma Slayter. He graduated Ceres High School in 1975 and was a member of the Ceres Church of Christ, and Teamster Local 386. Gary was employed by Stanislaus Farm Supply for 10 years and Foster Farms Dairy for 14 years. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball and enjoyed watching his daughter play softball. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, working in his garden, and spending time laughing and talking with his sons.
He leaves behind his lifelong love, Lydia Hernandez of Ceres; his children, Shelley Dyke, Gary Ryan Dyke and Kyle Allen Dyke; his mother, Norma Slayter; his brother, Larry Dyke; and his sister, Lynn Verot. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Dyke, and grandmother Maggie Barker.
