Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Daisy Bell Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 524 20th Century Blvd., Turlock for Gary Eugene Cheves, 54, of Hathaway Pines. The event will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Mr. Cheves died April 23, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton after a short illness.

Born May 13, 1953, Mr. Cheves was a native of Modesto and was raised in Ceres. He graduated from Ceres High School and attended Columbia Junior College. He owned Cheves Die and Design in Ceres for many years. Mr. Cheves lived in Hathaway Pines for the last 10 years where he was an accomplished woodworker, cabinet maker and furniture maker. He loved camping, fishing, sailing and photography. Mr. Cheves was a member of E Clampus Vitus.

He leaves behind his companion of 27 years, Diana Lucchesi; his brother, Thomas Cheves; his sister, Carol Woodhead; and his mother, Bobbie Cheves. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Eugene Cheves in 1994.
