A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13 at Oak Valley Church, 175 Bryan, Oakdale, for George Lee Malone Jr., 74, of Oakdale. The former Ceres resident died Feb. 9, 2010.
Born July 9, 1935 in Fletcher, Okla., to George and Etta Malone, George attended schools in Morgan Hill and Madera. In 1953 he married Mary E. Matthews in Modesto. He lived in Ceres for approximately 16 years before moving to Oakdale in 1998. George was employed at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto before he retired in 1989. Mr. Malone was a member of the Ceres Lions Club.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary Malone of Oakdale; two children, Ray Malone of Murphys and Linda Lee Malone Epps of Ceres. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
