A memorial service will be at noon Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for Gerald Winston Peace Jr., 60, of Ceres. He died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at his home.
Born Aug. 13, 1945, Mr. Peace was a native of Davenport, Iowa, and had lived in Ceres since 1979. He was a truck driver for Larry Alegria Trucking. Mr. Peace served in the Coast Guard from 1962 to 1964. He enjoyed building hot rods and collecting music.
Mr. Peace leaves behind his wife, Shirley Peace of Ceres; three children, Gerald W. Peace III of Modesto, Audrey Peace of Ceres and Jennifer Silveira of Turlock; his brother, John Peace of Modesto; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Jane Peace; and a sister.
