A funeral service was held Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Gladys Liona Allison, 103, of Ceres. She died Aug. 17, 2010.

Born Jan. 27, 1907, Gladys moved from Kansas to Oklahoma in a covered wagon at the age of two. She met Edwin Reeder Allison and they married in 1926. They had four children, Twila, Anna, Carl, and Myrtle. Mrs. Allison moved to California in 1944. Richland Faith Assembly of God in Ceres was her home church where she enjoyed the singing and listening to the Word of God. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord and taking care of her large family. She helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her three children, Anna Robinson, Carl Allison and Myrtle Johnson; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Edwin Allison, daughter Twila Coley, and grandson Steven Coley.
