A Celebration of Life was held Saturday at Valley Christian Center in Ceres for Hattie Lee Garriott Elliott, 97, of Ceres. She died March 17, 2009.

Salas Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born Nov. 11, 1911, Hattie was born in Healing Springs, Ark. She moved to California during the Depression and for about 70 years was a resident of the Ceres area. For more than 50 years, Mrs. Elliott was a member of Valley Christian Center in Ceres where she was a steady prayer warrior and was the leader of the prayer hotline for over 20 years. Hattie loved to visit with her friends and family.

She leaves behind four children, Shirley Smith of Ceres, Betty Johnson of Bellingham, Wash., Faye Connor of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Jerry Elliott of Las Cruces, N.M.; her sister, Willard Spillman; and 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and14 great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children and husband Burrel Elliott.
