A funeral was held Monday at the Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel for Henry Joy, 83, of Hughson. He died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 in Modesto.

Born in Lancaster to Ansel and Abby Joy, Henry joined the Army and fought in Germany during World War II. He was employed by Dairy Valley Milk Producers for 30 years, delivering milk and ice cream products to local schools. Mr. Joy then went to work for Simplot Chemical Company in Hughson for six years.

He belonged to the American Legion Post 88 in Turlock, Moose Lodge #1679 and the Teamsters union. He enjoyed outdoor activities and liked to fish, hunt and camp.

He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Angie Joy of Hughson; four children, Elaine Hill of Modesto, Ted Joy of Campbell, Roy Joy of Riverbank, and Chris Culfa of Roseville; two step-children, David Brazil of Hughson and Debbie Konsdorf of Modesto; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dovie, Virginia, Ruby and Cecil.
