Services will be held at St. Stanislaus Church in Modesto a 10 a.m. today for Henry Michael Rios, 77, of Modesto. He died Jan. 15, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.
Born Oct. 29, 1933, Henry was a lifelong resident of Modesto. He began his golf career at the age of 12, caddying for many players who became his friends. He worked his way up to assistant pro in the 1960s. For the last 15 years he was the pro/instructor at St. Stanislaus Golf on Crows Landing Road near Ceres. His speciality was junior golf.
He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Victoria Rios; his daughter, Rebekkah Rios; three sons, Eric Rios, Henry T. Rios and Dennis Boggan. He was preceded in death by parents Elviera and Alvino Rios, sister Caroline and an infant son.
