Hershell David Young 

Born Nov. 4, 1945

We regretfully share the passing of Hershell David Young.

David was born in Modesto to parents Hershell Trent and Gladys Lennett Young on November 4, 1945. He was a graduate of Ceres High School and served in the United States Army Reserve from 1965 to 1971. 

He was an assistant manager for Richland Markets and ended his career with Save Mor markets in Hughson as manager.

He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Cindy Young; a sister, Joyce Arlene Carson; two daughters, Trina Stewart and Dorinda Young; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

David loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman before his illness curtailed his activities. He had a wicked sense of humor and an infectious smile.

David is dearly loved and will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home’s Riverside Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 11 a.m.
