A funeral was held Friday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Homer A. Phillips, 86, of Hughson. He died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Oak Valley District Hospital in Oakdale.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 3, 1917, Mr. Phillips was a native of Stigler, Okla., and lived in Hughson for 59 years. He was a foreman and employed by Burchell Nursery for 28 years. Mr. Phillips was a member of Ceres Christian Church.

He leaves behind four children, Edward Phillips and Sue Antle, both of Eufaula, Okla., Hershell Phillips of Hughson and Jeffrey Phillips of Checotah, Okla.; his brother, Boyd Phillips of Odessa, Texas; his sister, Yvonne Rogers of Mesa, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Price Phillips.
