A memorial service was held Friday for Ingrid Resnick Dolly, 52, of Oakdale. The former Ceres resident died Jan. 13, 2012 at her home.

Oakdale Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Born on September 10, 1959 in New York City, Ingrid moved to Alamo when she was eight years old and graduated from San Ramon Valley High School in 1977. She attended college in Santa Barbara and ultimately graduated from California State University San Jose with a psychology degree. She later lived in San Leandro, Danville, Ceres and Oakdale. Ingrid was a devoted elementary school teacher in the Modesto-Ceres area for 15 years. Mrs. Dolly was active in the Oakdale Garden Club and the Oakdale Women's Club. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and attending the practices and performances of her sons' activities including marching band, football, wrestling, and track.

She leaves behind her husband, Don Dolly of Oakdale; her son, Daniel Dolly and step-son Donovan Nixon; her sister, Karen Schafer; and her step-father, John Story. She was preceded in death by parents Norman and Gisele Resnick.
