A committal service was held Monday at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella for Iola Hibdon, 90, of Ceres. She died Sept. 6, 2010.
Born July 25, 1920 in Oklahoma to Prestley and Margaret Britton, Iola later settled in Ceres, where she lived for 51 years. She loved traveling and also enjoyed her work as a licensed vocational nurse at Memorial Hospital for 35 years.
She leaves behind her children, Neva Ellerd of Denair, and LaNita Hansen of Oregon; and 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Calvin Hibdon, children Margaret Gee, Mildred Tucker, Roy Looney and seven siblings.
