A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Turlock Funeral Home Chapel for Jack Oneal Trantha, 73, of Turlock. The former Ceres resident died March 13, 2008 in Turlock.

Born March 7, 1935, Mr. Trantham was a native of Henryetta, Okla. His family moved to California when Jack was a young boy and he went to school in Hughson and Ceres, graduating from Ceres High School. In the early 1960's he went to work for Chemical Fertilizer, which became Pure Gro Company. He worked as a dispatcher for many years before retiring. His co-workers there have always been a part of this Trantham family. Jack always enjoyed Sunday drives and was an avid bird watcher. He had a terrific memory for places and could tell anyone how to get some place even if he had not been there in years. Jack enjoyed vacation in Monterey and Mono Lake.

He leaves behind his daughter, Brenda Trantham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Trantham, and daughter Sandra Lee Trantham Hatlen.
