A memorial service will be held Saturday in the family home for Jane Wynne Woolley, 55, of Hickman. She died Aug. 24, 2007 in an equestrian accident at Yellowhammer Lake in the Emigrant Basin Wilderness area.

Born June 9, 1952 in Ceres, Mrs. Woolley was a 1970 graduate of Hughson High School. She was a summa cum laude 1974 graduate from California State University Stanislaus, Turlock. She taught kindergarten at Wakefield School in Turlock for 20 years, and helped design bilingual education programs for the kindergarten classes in the Oakdale and Turlock unified school districts. With her husband, Robert Woolley, they owedn the Dave Wilson Nursery in Hickman. The nursery was founded by her maternal grandparents, Dave and Isabel Wilson of Modesto.

Mrs. Woolley was an accomplished gardener, gourmet cook, and horsewoman.

She leaves behind her husband, Robert Woolley, Hickman; her daughter, Erica Woolley of Santa Cruz; her mother, Betty Anne Wilson Wynne of Hughson; her brother, Geoff Wynne of Sonora. She was preceded in death by her father, John R. Wynne.
