A memorial service was held Friday at Eaton Family Funeral Home for Jay Ball, 68, of Modesto. He died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Samaritan Village in Hughson.

Born April 13, 1936, Mr. Ball was a native of Borger, Texas, and lived in Modesto for 40 years. He was a truck driver for 40 years and worked for Wil-lig Freight Lines. Mr. Ball was a member of the Modesto Moose Lodge, Waterford Sportsman's Club and the Teamsters. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Mr. Ball leaves behind his wife, Bunny Morgan of Sacramento; three children, Clifford Ball, Douglas Ball, and Denise Hopkins, all of Modesto; two sisters, Opal Cowan and Norma Bosley, both of Texas; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Claudette Ball.
