A memorial Mass was held Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson for Jeff McCarthy, 46, of Ceres. He died Sept. 12, 2007 on his ranch.
Born Dec. 2, 1960 in Modesto, to Eugene and Ida McCarthy, Mr. McCarthy was the Deputy Executive Director of the San Francisco Marine Exchange. He attended Westport School, Ceres High School, Modesto Junior College, and graduated cum laude from San Francisco State College with a degree in theatre arts. Mr. McCarthy enjoyed the theatre, food, and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Renata Belash of Ceres; his daughter, Anika McCarthy; his mother, Ida McCarthy of Hughson; his sister, Kate McCarthy of Modesto; and two brothers, Edward McCarthy of Auburn and Tom McCarthy of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene J. McCarthy; and his brother, Paul McCarthy.
