A Mass was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Jesse Joseph Flores, 64, of Ceres. He died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Born Jan. 16, 1940, Mr. Flores was a native of Stockton where he attended school. He graduated from Stockton College High School in 1957 and attended Delta College. Mr. Flores lived in Ceres for 29 years. He was a hostler for Union Pacific Railroad and last worked for Westport School before retirement. Mr. Flores served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. He belonged to St. Jude's Catholic Church and coached girls softball many years in Ceres. Mr. Flores enjoyed landscaping, sports, watching old movies and music.

Mr. Flores leaves behind his wife, Linda Scudder Flores of Ceres; five children, Angela D. Smith of Turlock, Sarah Flores, Kimberlee Flores and Jennifer Flores, all of Ceres, and John Medel of Stockton; two sisters, Ramona Lopez and Juanita Bojorquez, both of Stockton; and three grandchildren.
