A church service was held on Friday at Ceres Seventh Day Adventist Church for Jessica Lynn Sue Darrough, 23, of South Modesto. She died March 18, 2008 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born Dec. 11, 1984 in Hayward, Miss Darrough attended Shackelford Elementary School and Hanshaw Middle School in South Modesto before graduating from Downey High School. Jessica was a member of the Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church where she was a Adventurer Club counselor. She enjoyed her Wednsday night Bible Study group. Jessica loved animals and was employed as a pet bather in Modesto. She would often take injured birds to the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center and try to find homes for lost dogs.
She leaves behind her mother Sheri Darrough of South Modesto; her sister, Jennifer Darrough; her brother, Terry Darrough; and her grandparents, Emmett and Nellie Bush of South Modesto and Ralph Darrough (Lois).
