A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at her home for Joan Karen Easley, 63, of Ceres. She died Sept. 3 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson after a long battle with carcinoid cancer.

Born Oct. 21, 1945 in Oakland, Joan had been a Ceres resident for the past 35 years. She worked for Ceres Unified School District for 26 years. Mrs. Easley had been diagnosed with carcinoid cancer five years ago, but she continued being a courageous and caring person. Joan enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and enjoyed reading.

She leaves behind her husband Monte Easley of Ceres; and three daughters, Deana, Kelly, and Samantha; her mother, Clara; two brothers, Larry and Doug; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, Allison, and Lexi. She was preceded in death by father Jack Moffitt.
