A graveside service was held Monday at Ceres Memorial Park for Joann Messinger-Bartlett, 73, of Ceres. She died Oct. 21, 2008 after a long illness.
The McHenry Chapel of Franklin and Downs was in charge of arrangements.
Born Sept. 8, 1935, Mrs. Messinger-Bartlett was a long time resident of Ceres. She was a retired geriatric nurse that worked at several local facilities over a long career.
She leaves behind her husband, Lester Bartlett; two sons, Michael Goin of Martinez, and Ron Goin of Gig Harbor, Wash.; her stepson, David Messinger of Modesto; two brothers, Guy Black of Concord and Samuel A. Thompson of Martinez; her sister, Elaine Surbaugh of El Paso, Texas; two grandsons, Eric Goin and Aaron Goin; her great-grandson, Evan Goin; and step grandchildren.
