Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Memorial Park for Joanne Gordon, 73, of Modesto. She died on Oct. 16, 2008 after a brave battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 16, 1934, Joanne was a native of San Jose but grew up in the Valley. She attended Ceres High School. She and her husband traveled the world. They lived in Lake Tahoe for 20 years, and returned to the Valley later in life. Mrs. Gordon enjoyed gardening, water skiing, spending time out doors and riding her motorcycle. She cherished family and friends above all.
She leaves behind two children, Mike Johnson and Kim Borges; two step-children, Debbie Dugan and Kenny Gordon; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Ken Gordon, daughter Becky Haight, grandson Matthew Borges and her parents, Frank and Helen Senseney.
