A funeral was held Friday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Josephine Ellis Dias, 87, of Modesto. The former Ceres resident died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.
Burial was private at Turlock Memorial Park.
Born Dec. 31, 1917, Mrs. Dias was a native of Turlock and lived in the Ceres and Modesto area most of her life. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1936 and from Modesto Junior College in 1938. Mrs. Dias was a bookkeeper at the Milk Producer Association for 12 years. She was co-owner of Dias Trucking and enjoyed gardening.
She leaves behind two children, Barbara Dias Salazar of Turlock and Ron Dias of Modesto; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Dias; and one brother.
