Graveside services were held at Lakewood Memorial Park for Kenneth Lee Bentley, 79, of Ceres. He died on Jan. 28, 2005 at Doctors Medical Center.
Born July 4, 1925, Mr. Bentley was a native of Atlus, Okla., and was raised in Texas. In search of the construction industry, he moved to San Diego when he was 16. Mr. Bentley served in the Navy during World War II. He moved to the Modesto area where he met his bride, Janice Jean Ott. They married in 1946 in Carson City, Nev. Mr. Bentley was a trcuker who lived in Ceres 45 years.
Mr. Bentley enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Teamsters Union.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Janice Bentley of Ceres; three children, Carolyn Sanford , Patti Christensen of Modesto and Larry Bentley of Ceres; and four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his five brothers and sisters, Ruth Bradbury, Betty Pickurel, Jim Bentley, Bill Bentley and Mary Holden. He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. and Lela Bentley, brother Lawrence Bentley and grandson Justin Christensen.
