An Oct. 31 memorial service will celebrate the life of Kevin William Michael, 29, of Oceanside. The former Hughson resident died Oct. 11, 2009 in a car accident.
The Celebration of Life will be held ay 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 324 College Ave., Modesto.
Born Dec. 24, 1979 in Oakdale, Kevin grew up in Hughson and graduated from Hughson High School in 1998 with honors. He enjoyed playing for the Hughson Huskies basketball team and was coached by his dad, Ron Michael. He received his degree in communications from Cal State Fullerton in 2005. He was briefly married to Rebekah Lopez Michael who gave him two children. Kevin loved music and was an accomplished writer and musician and was a member of the band, Prosper. He enjoyed being at the ocean, and surfing at Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma. His greatest love was for God and his two children, Mia Solano, 2, and Tyler Ruben, 1. An avid sports fan, Mr. Michael followed the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Chargers. He last lived in Oceanside and worked for H-Wave as a Customer Care Executive helping people in pain to get well.
He leaves behind his two children, Mia Solano Michael and Tyler Ruben Michael; his mother, Delanna Kennedy and her husband Rod; his father, Ron Michael and his wife Daphne; his brother Kenneth Michael; his step-brother, Jackson Michael; three step-sisters, Debbie Reed, Jennifer Chand and Michelle Wright; and his grandmother, June Michael.
