A funeral service was held Monday at the McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs for L. Kathleen “Kitty” Llewellyn Johnson, 80, of Ceres. She died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2005 at Evergreen Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.

Born Dec. 29, 1924, Mrs. Johnson was a native of Nebraska City, Neb. and lived in Ceres for nine years. She owned a horse ranch for 25 years. Mrs. Johnson raised and trained for show Lasha Apso dogs and with her husband trained and showed Morgan horses. She enjoyed painting scenery as well as China and playing the organ.

She leaves behind two children, Robert Gene Johnson of Florence, Ore., and Kathee Ann Whitehead of Ceres; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thomas Johnson, son Thomas Dean Johnson and her parents, Robert and Lillian Llewellyn.
