A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday at the SOS Club in Modesto for Larry R. Turner, 59, of Ceres. He died March 5, 2012 after battling cancer.

Born Jan. 30, 1953 in Santa Monica, Larry served in the Navy during the Vietnam war, and lived in Washington before moving to Ceres in the 1980s. The owner of D&L Concrete Pumping, Larry also served several years on the board of the DVBE Alliance, helping develop better business futures for returning disabled veterans.

He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Donna Cunha Turner of Ceres; his daughter, Nicole Turner of Vancouver, Wash.; his step-daughter, Dana Ziller of Tracy; his step-son, Eddie Hoover, of Ceres; two sisters, Mary Williams of Lancaster, and Sherry Barnash of San Antonio, Texas; his brother, Tracy Turner of Portland, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Remembrances may be sent to the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
