A graveside service was held Tuesday at Ceres Memorial Park for Lawrence Raymond Bagley, 90, of Ceres. He died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at Vintage Faire Nursing Rehabilitation in Modesto.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 30, 1917, Mr. Bagley was a native of Lincoln, Neb., and was a resident of Ceres since 1956. He had served in the Coast Guard and was employed as a proofreader for The Modesto Bee for 25 years. Mr. Bagley enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and animals.

He leaves behind his wife, Joan Elizabeth Bagley of Ceres; four daughters, Linda Sheikewitz of Tracy, Margaret Boyd of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Meryl Yant of Oakdale, and JoAnna Madsen of Riverbank; and eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Walter Bagley.
