A graveside service with military honors was held Tuesday at Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry, Kan., for Lee Roy G. Casteel, 75, of Mindenmines, Mo. The former Ceres resident died Tuesday, Dc. 27, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo. was in charge of arrangements.

Born July 20, 1930, Mr. Casteel was a native of Enid, Okla., and lived in Ceres prior to moving to Missouri. He was a truck driver. Mr. Casteel served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Modesto and the Church of God in Mindenmines.

He leaves behind his wife, Barbara Casteel of Mindenmines, Mo.; five children, William Lasater of Modesto, Buddy Lasater of Pittsburg, Kan., Wesley Rhoades of West Plaines, Mo., Lee Roy Casteel of Mindenmines, and Dollie Cown of Waterford; two brothers, Jimmy Casteel of Modesto, and John Casteel of La Mesa, Colo.; three sisters, Freddna Sue Moss, Beverly Jackson and Dortha Delgado, all of Ceres; and 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
