Born July 10,1924 in Detriot, Mich., to Everett and Nora Atwell, Cathern moved to Missouri at the age of three and then to California in 1935. She resided in Ceres and graduated from Ceres High School in 1944. She met the love of her life, Carl Reinhart, while in high school. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.

As a child her favorite memories were camping with her family and spending time with cousins. Singing was a vital part of her life starting at a very young age. She also enjoyed basketball and baseball. She became a Christian at the age of 12. In her teenage years summer time found her working at the cannery.

Her married life centered around the farm where there was a working dairy and then eventually harvesting crops of grapes, almonds and walnuts. Her most memorabe times were fishing and camping with her family.

After the farm was sold and upon retirement a big move was made in to Ceres and later Modesto. Retirement years were filled with traveling and spending time with friends at church.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Reinhart of Modesto; three daughters, Charlotte Carpenter, Carleen Barton and Cynthia Atkerson; and seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Raymond Atwell, Harold Atwell and Eileen Walden.

Remembrances may be sent to Community Hospice or Shelter Cove Community Church.
