A memorial service was held Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Lena Mary Ott Zipser, 85, of Ceres. She died Dec. 18, 2011 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice Hopice House in Hughson after a brief battle with Shy Dragers Disease (MSA/Parkinsons).

Born November 9,1926, Lena worked for over 40 years as a tax preparer and enjoyed seeing the friends she had made through her job. This made her retirement at age 80 bittersweet. Lena enjoyed tending to her flowers and fruit trees.

She leaves behind her three children, Randy Zipser, of Lancaster, Pa., Ron Zipser of Ceres, and Sandy Hodges of Danville; five grandchildren, Bryan, Michael, Ronnie, Megan and Austin; and two great-grandchildren, Bella and Kayleigh. She was preceded by husband Albert Zipser, sisters Annie Durrer and Martha Burgi Thompson, brothers Clements Ott Jr. and Joseph Ott, and parents Clements, Sr. and Frances Ott.

Remembrances may be sent the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326; or to the Community Hospice Foundation.
