A funeral was held Friday afternoon at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel for Lewis Ray Bundy, 82, of Hughson. He died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.

Burial was at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Born April 17, 1922, Mr. Bundy was a native of Arnolds Flat, Iowa, and had lived in Hughson since 1942. He was an English teacher at Hughson High School for 30 years. Mr. Bundy graduated from the University of the Pacific. He belonged to the United Methodist Church, Hump Pilots Association and Sons in Retirement Society. Mr. Bundy was in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He enjoyed golf, coin collecting and gardening.

Mr. Bundy leaves behind his wife, Marjorie Bundy of Hughson; three children, Kevin Bundy of Tokyo, Linda Eikenberry of Santa Rosa and Karyn Birchall of Fresno; three sisters, Edith Johnson of Windom, Minn., Marian Graber of Liberal, Kan., and Virginia Campbell of Mesquite, Texas; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Bundy; and one brother.
